Marimekko vs Dolce & Gabbana

We hear that Finnish textiles/homewares/fashion company Marimekko is taking D&G Dolce & Gabbana to court over their print (inset, on dress) that seems suspiciously similar to Marimekko's signature Unikko (larger image) floral. D&G better watch out. Marimekko recently won the 2008 SIGNUM prize in Europe for "extremely consistent trade mark management, active and long-term protection of intellectual property rights, and an exemplary interaction between design, fashion and brand building."

I thought that stealing unikko/poppy was the ugliest thing that a design powerhouse like D&G can do.

Unfortunately I found something even more arrogant and repulsive act by D&G.

Now they are trying to cancel the regisration of Marimekko's poppy pattern in EU.

Can you imagine!! First they steal the pattern and then they try cancel marimekko's rights of this over 40 years old world famous iconic print pattern.

If you find this as repulsive as I do, please tell it to D&G via their web pages.
